This poke bonnet, with its broad, smooth brim, highlights the lustre of the black silk satin. The fabric is laid in three folds on the flat-bottomed head portion and is tied in a double bow on the crown. Of the tie bands of brown rep with scalloped edges only the right is original. The brim is fully lined in cream coloured satin.
