30-year-old Park Ji-sung has signed at contract which will see him stay at Manchester United until at least 2013.

In a move that has been anticipated for weeks, Park Ji-sung has signed a new contract which will continue to see him ply his trade for Manchester United through the 2012-13 season. The Korean midfielder was brought over from PSV Eindhoven in 2005 for a reported fee of £4 million. While many cynically felt at the time that the move was made in order to sell more United shirts in Korea, Park has repaid manager Sir Alex Ferguson's faith in him in spades. The industrious Park is regularly called upon in United's biggest matches where his top performances have exhibited his commitment and quality. Along with Nani, Antonio Valencia, and Ashley Young, the United boss now has an array of wide players to choose from as United chase glory on multiple fronts. Here is what Fergie had to say about the man they call "three lungs" at Old Trafford:

"Ji has been an important player for us for a number of years now. He has great ability and energy and in recent seasons has added the knack of scoring important goals in big games. He is a popular member of the squad and his experience at domestic and international level is invaluable for the younger players."

After the jump, read quotes from Park himself...

Here's Park on his new contract:

"I have enjoyed every minute of my time at United. I'm delighted to be part of the Club during this latest stage in its history - with another exciting young team being built. I'm looking forward to playing my part in keeping United United at the top of the game."
