I bought this for a gift for someone. I had trouble finding a good stand for a 2016 era iPad Pro, 9.7 I think it is sturdy but there's one thing that severely bothered me: the upper latch only slides down to hold in the iPad. I spend a while looking for some kind of locking mechanism, but nope. So this will hold your iPad -- good for when you're stationary, but you need to be careful if moving around while holding it.

I had a small iPad stand which I bought off Amazon but was finding it to be too short for my needs and not adjustable enough for the various pandemic related activities I've been using my iPad for such as remote exercise classes, play readings, and using it as a script reader. Since I was at B&H buying a Rain Design laptop stand, I decided to give this a try and am really glad I did. It's pricey for an iPad stand, but it is solid. It is adjustable to most iPad sizes and I really like the way the bracket secures the iPad in place so when you move it from location to location it doesn't fall out.

The design of the stand is compatible with Apple products. I initially used mine to hold a 9.7 iPad. I found the iPad too small. I upgraded to 12.9. I thought I would need a part to make it compatible with a 12.9. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the mStand would accommodate the larger size. It made me happy.

Nice minimalist iPad which I use to display the screen on my desk in my office. Even sturdy enough in its bracket that you can manipulate the iPad screen without it moving about. Very good build quality.
